“International regulatory harmonization is essential to accelerate the Cure4Cancer, and no matter our profession or background, we all have a role to play. Listen to an inspiring opening by Dr. Luis Diaz of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, joined by multi-stakeholder world leaders David Fredrickson of AstraZeneca, Dr. Larry Norton of MSK, Aminu Umar-Sadiq of NSIA: Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority and Isabel Mestres of City Cancer Challenge (C/Can).
Thanks to Asia Society, Bloomberg New Economy, International Cancer Coalition, Chinese Thoracic Oncology Group (CTONG) and other strategic partners at the Cure4Cancer Conference, we can learn from international leaders and appreciate the major global challenges. Discussions included global health equity, policy harmonization and access to clinical trials R and D, as well as opportunities for action in the fight against cancer.
This year will be pivotal for the world, with impact on shaping history for the rest of the 21st century. However, as Kevin Rudd once told me, history is not predestined by anonymous forces or fairy dust, but by committed women and men, individuals who make the difference.
This is a story that the global fight against cancer belongs to all of us, and everyone has a role to play to advance this International Movement through collaboration and innovation. Let’s continue to tell the story, spread the word and write history together.”
