Kelley Wood: OOP costs barrier to US cancer survivors’ access to medical equipment, exacerbating decline

Kelley Wood, Director of Research at ReVital Cancer Rehabilitation, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“JAMA study shows medical equipment out of pocket (OOP) costs are higher than prescription drugs, outpatient services, physical and occupational therapy, emergency department, and hospitalizations.

Despite high levels of mobility disability and high willingness to pay, OOP costs are a barrier for US cancer survivors to access medical equipment, potentially exacerbating long-term functional decline.”
