
Clinical Investigator Career Development Award
The Lymphoma Research Foundation’s Clinical Investigator Career Development Award (CDA) supports advanced fellows and junior faculty—licensed physician investigators in the U.S. and Canada—to build independent clinical research careers in lymphoma by funding protected research time, protocol development, and trial implementation .
Eligibility Criteria:

Physician Status: Licensed MD/DO (or equivalent) in an ACGME‐accredited specialty (e.g., hematology/oncology, pathology) at a nonprofit academic or clinical research institution in the U.S. or Canada.

Career Stage: Advanced fellow or junior faculty with ≥24 months of fellowship/postdoctoral training and ≤6 years of post‐training experience as of March 1, 2026 (extensions for major life events allowed).

Research Commitment: Devote 35–50% FTE to lymphoma clinical research, free from major clinical, teaching, or administrative duties.

Project Scope: Hypothesis‐driven clinical research in lymphoma/CLL per WHO classification; translational aims permitted but not primary.

Independence: Applicant must lead study design, IRB submission, conduct, analysis, and publication of clinical protocols.

Mentorship: Identify a primary mentor (and up to four associate mentors) with demonstrated training records; mentors submit biosketches and letters of support.

Concurrent Awards: May not hold another career development award (e.g., NIH K‐series, ACS CSDG) during the CDA period.
Funding Details:

Total Amount: US $375,000 over 3 years

Salary Support: US $120,000/year

Incidental Funds: US $5,000/year for supplies or professional development

Duration: 3 years (must start between March 1 and July 1, 2026)

Allowable Costs: Applicant salary; research supplies; tuition, registration, and travel integral to the career development plan.

Exclusions: No institutional overhead; no funding for non‐PI personnel salaries or equipment purchase.
