Isabel Mestres: Congratulations to all the cancer research City Cancer Challenge grant recipients!

Isabel Mestres, CEO at City Cancer Challenge Foundation, shared a post by City Cancer Challenge on LinkedIn:

“Congratulations to all the cancer research City Cancer Challenge grant recipients!

We face a global gap in evidence base and contextualised solutions to improve access to cancer care in LMIC! This makes it very hard for countries to prioritise solutions withing their limited resources settings.

To address the evidence gap, it is essential to strengthen implementation sicence infrastructure, encourage international collaboration, prioritize cancer research in healthcare agendas, and invest in training and capacity-building programs for healthcare professionals and researchers in LMICs.

Supported Research Projects:

Using mobile health to reduce default and abandonment rates among children receiving treatment at the paediatric oncology unit of KOMFO ANOKYE TEACHING HOSPITAL, Ghana.

Identifying a core set of services for a financial navigation program for patients seeking cancer care in the public health system in Greater Petaling.

Analysis of Time to Initiate Cancer Treatment on Breast Cancer Patients treated in a Hospital in Porto Alegre: a retrospective cohort from 2022 to 2023.

Withholding the Real Diagnosis in Cancer Patients: Is it associated with better QoL and Less Anxiety, Distress and Depression within the Georgian population?
