Tunji Alausa: A visit to Marcelle Ruth Cancer Centre and Specialist Hospital in Victoria Island, Lagos
Tunji Alausa, State Minister for Health and Social Welfare of Nigeria, shared on X/Twitter:
“In continuation of my World Cancer Day activities, I paid a visit to Marcelle Ruth Cancer Centre and Specialist Hospital in Victoria Island, Lagos — known for their world class comprehensive treatment of cancer and specialist conditions.
I was very impressed with the centre’s facilities and top-line equipment, staff, as well as Dr Elebute-Odunsi and her team’s dedication to employing and training homegrown students, delivering high standards of cancer and ensuring continuity of care for their patients.
A sub-goal under pillar 2 of Federal Ministry of Health’s 4-point agenda is to improve the quality of care and service delivery across ALL levels of the health system, private sector included. That’s why ongoing partnerships between public and private facilities is essential to providing the best healthcare to Nigerians.
Thank you to Dr Modupe Elebute-Odunsi, Mr Bolaji Odunsi and Dr Kemi Ogunyemi for the tour and shedding light on Marcelle Ruth’s goal to become the top one-shop for cancer care in Africa – which I believe it will. I look forward to continuing our conversations and supporting you on this journey.”
