Michael Erhayanmen: Navigating The Cancer Patients’ Care Continuum

Michael Erhayanmen, Media Editor for the World Journal of Surgery, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“I had the incredible opportunity to make a poster presentation on the topic Navigating The Cancer Patients’ Care Continuum: The Cancad Patna Support Initiative of our recently launched patient navigation program at Cancer Advocacy Nigeria known as Cancad PatNa Initiative at the International Cancer Week24 organized by the National Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment in Abuja, Nigeria.

Our recently launched patient navigation program at Cancer Advocacy Nigeria, Cancad PatNa Initiative, aims to bridge the gap in cancer care and support patients throughout their journey especially with navigating hospital settings as well as providing psychosocial support.

Our initiative has also developed a web application that will help identify the availability and functional status of treatment facilities to support referrals between facilities ultimately contributing to the overall improved health outcomes of cancer patients

I’m grateful for the platform offered by our organization and for the invaluable support of my coach and president, Qudus Lawal, the contributions of Asogun Daniel, MBBS, Jane Iguma-Asaka, Jeremiah Ugo, and my chief Odion Donald Oriaifo to share our work and connect with fellow cancer advocates, researchers, and healthcare professionals.”
