Meet Shakira and her granny who come from Balaka district in Malawi- CANCaRe Africa

“Meet Shakira and her granny who come from Balaka district in Malawi where she lives with her parents who are subsistence farmers. A few months ago, Shakira was diagnosed with cancer and she has been receiving chemotherapy treatment at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital (QECH) in Blantyre, Malawi. They travel about 5 hours to come to QECH for the chemotherapy. She is responding well to treatment and is currently at home planning to come back in a couple of weeks for further treatment. Their costs for transport are covered by the ward with support from World Child Cancer. Her granny is very happy with the progress that has been achieved in Shakira’s health even though she is constantly reminded by the dire situation at home where they are struggling to find daily meal.
Your donations can help families of children like Shakira with out of pockets costs so they can complete their treatment. Or email. 100% of donations will directly go to caregivers.
