“Advanced breast cancer is an area which needs a huge investment in LMIC especially Africa where most of the patients are diagnosed at a very young age. We need to give hope and improve their outcomes. I believe this is very possible if all stakeholders can come together for this purpose.”
Quoting ABC Global Alliance‘s post:
“Over the past 10 years, advances in breast cancer research and treatment have led to a 40% decrease in deaths in some developed countries. Still, this type of cancer represents enormous costs for society and forecasts point to a worsening in the number of diagnoses and deaths by 2040.
Currently, ‘society, governments and decision-makers in the area of health see just the tip of an iceberg’, points out the Lancet Commission on breast cancer, which highlights the neglected aspects of the disease that prevent progress in a report with six crucial points for change.”
