“On Jan. 10, we celebrated the investiture of Dr. Marlana Orloff as the inaugural Alexander and Johnston Family Endowed Clinical Director of Uveal Melanoma.
Dr. Orloff is a nationally recognized leader in the field of uveal melanoma. She is principal investigator on numerous clinical trials investigating new treatment approaches and has been involved in the trials that led to the approval of the only two FDA-approved therapies specifically for metastatic uveal melanoma.
As Clinical Director, she will lead one of the few programs in the country dedicated to treating melanoma in the eye. Jefferson’s uveal melanoma team has made seminal discoveries that continue to push the field forward, and the Melanoma Research Institute of Excellence (MRIE) at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center was recently named the global leader in uveal melanoma research, actively publishing more studies than any other institute in the world.
Congratulations, Dr. Orloff!”
