In its recently released long-term budget proposal, the European Commission announced an excise tax on cigarettes and tobacco products to generate €11.2 Billion
The new Tobacco Excise Duty Own Resource (TEDOR)
- supports EU health policy objectives
- aligns with Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and its goal of a tobacco-free Europe by 2040.
With a new series of revenue sources secured, it’s time to reenergise our efforts on cancer control.
