“Negative margins and adequate node harvest remain non-negotiable in rectal cancer surgery. Excellence in rectal cancer surgery shouldn’t be limited to high-volume centers. We need scalable strategies to deliver these outcomes in every OR, and for every patient.”
Quoting Annals of Surgery‘s post:
“High-volume hospitals were more likely to achieve negative margins and adequate lymph node harvest in rectal cancer resections – key metrics of oncologic quality.”
