For the first time ever, lung cancer is part of the conversation – Lung Cancer Europe
Lung Cancer Europe — shared on LinkedIn:
“This month, the World Health Assembly (the decision-making body of the World Health Organization) will vote on a global lung health resolution.
For the first time ever, lung cancer is part of the conversation.
This is a major shift. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death worldwide – yet it’s been largely overlooked in global health policy.
The resolution urges countries to:
✔ Act on risk factors like air pollution, tobacco and radon
✔ Improve early diagnosis and access to treatment
✔ Develop national lung health strategies that include lung cancerIt’s a rare and vital opportunity for the lung cancer community to push for real action – and ensure we’re finally included in national health priorities.”
Lung Cancer Europe announced that lung cancer is included for the first time in a global resolution being considered by the World Health Assembly. The resolution calls for action on risk factors, early diagnosis, treatment access, and national strategies that incorporate lung cancer.
