“I am tremendously excited to join the board of MassBio (along with Keira Driansky, Andrew Kaplan, Danielle Lauzon, Lucy Perez, and Leslie J Williams), grateful for the opportunity, and looking forward to supporting the organization under the inspired and visionary leadership of Kendalle Burlin O’Connell, Esq.
We are living in transformational times in medicine, and it has been a privilege to be a part of the greatest life sciences ecosystem in history.
From the time I moved to Massachusetts for my residency at the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program to today, I’ve been lucky to be able to
- Train and practice medicine in the best hospitals in the world (Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Mass General Hospital, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston Children’s Hospital, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center),
- Learn from the top minds in policy/business/public health/medicine (Harvard Medical School, Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, Harvard Kennedy School, Harvard Business School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology),
- Start a non-profit that organizes clinical trials around patients (Global Coalition for Adaptive Research), work for and lead a historically relevant company in the history of cancer (Foundation Medicine),
- Join a group of creative-thinkers with insurgent mindsets determined to change the world by asking “What If?” (Flagship Pioneering), and
- Lead an organization that reimagines the way we can learn from patients and make new medicines to improve their lives given the opportunities of the information age (Valo Health).
All without moving. All without much change in a commute that starts down Route 2 and winds around Fresh Pond!
This is truly an extraordinary time and place to live and work and MassBio is at the center- a driving force behind the biotechnology ecosystem that translates innovation into impact for patients. Very proud to be a part of the organization and looking forward to the work ahead!”
