Divya Sachdev: Building a future where every child, no matter where they live, has a fair chance at survival

Divya Sachdev, Director of World Child Cancer, shared a post by Servier, adding:

“Grateful to Servier for their commitment to closing the cancer care gap. Their dedication to innovation and equitable access is making a real difference in the fight against childhood cancer. Together, we can build a future where every child, no matter where they live, has a fair chance at survival.”

Quoting Servier’s post below:

“Every year, 400,000 children are diagnosed with cancer worldwide, but survival rates vary drastically between high- and low-income countries.

In high-income countries, survival rates exceed 80%, while in low-income countries this figure can fall below 30%. This disparity is driven by factors such as limited awareness among healthcare professionals, a lack of access to treatment and under-resourced healthcare infrastructure.

Led by Divya Sachdev, World Child Cancer USA is working relentlessly to close this survival gap. Its approach includes:

  • Focusing on early diagnosis
  • Providing financial and emotional support to families
  • Improving the quality of care for children in underserved regions

The organization’s initiatives, such as training healthcare professionals and supporting families, are key to addressing the root causes of these survival disparities.
