Aaron Sverdlov: Advancing cardio-oncology to improve patient lives
Aaron Sverdlov, Professor and Director of Heart Failure and Co-Director at Newcastle Centre of Excellence in Cardio-Oncology, posted the following on LinkedIn:
“Honoured to have our work highlighted by the NSW Medical Research. Cardio Oncology is an extremely important area of medicine aimed at supporting and improving cardiovascular health of people living with and beyond cancer, who are at higher risk of cardiovascular disease than the general population. I am very grateful to the NSW Medical Research for the funding support to drive research and innovation in cardio-oncology and establishing NSW as the leader in this field.
Many thanks go to all our patients for their support and input as we develop our program! I am proud to co-lead our program with Doan Ngo and would like to thank all our group members and students! Many more important things in the pipeline to help people live healthy lives.
Many thanks to Hunter Medical Research Institute (HMRI), Hunter New England Local Health District, Calvary Mater Newcastle, University of Newcastle, and our supporters and collaborators across Australia and the world, including Heart Foundation, Australian Cardiovascular Alliance, NSW Regional Cancer Research Network, Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand, Clinical Oncology Society of Australia (COSA), Her Heart Australia, and NSW Health, International Cardio-Oncology Society, OncoDaily, European Society of Cardiology, American College of Cardiology, Novartis, Australia & New Zealand, Race Oncology, AstraZeneca, Janssen Inc., JACC Journals, Susan Dent, MD FRCPC, Sebastian Szmit, Michael Fradley, MD, Daniel Lenihan, Joerg Herrmann, Diego Sadler, Leonard Kritharides, Daniel Cehic, Dan Chen, Mark Nolan, James Lynam, Jarad Martin, Bogda Koczwara and many others.”
