Nirmala Bhoo Pathy: Honored to be Recognized as one of the Tatler Asia’s Most Influential
Nirmala Bhoo Pathy, Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Social and Preventive Medicine and Faculty of Medicine at University Malaya, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Wohoo!!
Who would have thought a public health physician would be featured in a celebrity-highlight magazine alongside fashion icons and entertainers?
I am deeply honored to be recognized as one of Tatler Asia‘s Most Influential, joining a distinguished cohort of leaders across various sectors in Asia, including business tycoons, prominent clinicians, fashion icons, entertainers, tech innovators, and changemakers shaping the future.
As a clinical epidemiologist and public health physician, much of my work occurs behind the scenes; conducting impactful research, designing health systems, and influencing policies to tackle complex health challenges. While these efforts are often less visible than frontline roles, their impact on improving population health and equity is profound and enduring.
This recognition is therefore NOT just a personal milestone. It’s a testament to the power and importance of public health, a transformative discipline that extends beyond illness, fostering solutions that enhance the health and well-being of entire populations.
Thank you Tatler Asia for showcasing the influence of public health in shaping society.
Together, we continue striving for a better, healthier future for all.”
