“Ending Cervical Cancer!!!
Sometime in November, we will mark the World Health Organization’s (WHO) Day of Cervical Cancer Elimination.
Cervical cancer is a preventable disease that affects millions of women worldwide.
It is the second most common cancer among women in Nigeria, and it’s also the second most frequent cause of cancer death among women ages 15 and 44 years.
Yet, many still hesitate to get vaccinated against Human Papillomavirus (HPV), the primary cause of cervical cancer.
Facts:
- Cervical cancer is preventable with the HPV vaccine.
- The HPV vaccine is safe and effective in preventing cervical cancer.
- HPV vaccine hesitancy is a major barrier to cervical cancer prevention.
What to do?
- Get vaccinated against HPV to protect yourself and your loved ones.
- Educate yourself and others about the importance of HPV vaccination.
- Support efforts to increase HPV vaccine access and awareness.
If you do your part as I do my part, we can eliminate cervical cancer.”
