The Warburg effect and how cancer metabolism affects chemotherapy response

Yüksel Ürün shared on X:

The Warburg effect drives cancer cells to metabolize glucose anaerobically, leading to lactate accumulation.

This lactate drives a process that helps cancer cells repair DNA and resist chemotherapy. By reducing lactate, we can make cancer cells more sensitive to treatment.

NBS1 lactylation is required for efficient DNA repair and chemotherapy resistance
