Two charities will co-fund a major £5.5 million research programme called Stratified Medicine Paediatrics 2 – The Institute of Cancer Research

“We’re thrilled to announce a new ICR-led research programme, co-funded by Children with Cancer UK and Cancer Research UK (CRUK), which aims to advance precision medicine for children and young people whose cancer has returned.
These two charities will co-fund a major £5.5 million research programme called Stratified Medicine Paediatrics 2 (SMPaeds2), which will be led by Professor Louis Chesler, leader of the Paediatric Solid Tumour Biology and Therapeutics Team at the ICR.
Other co-leads include Professor Darren Hargrave at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust and Isidro Cortés Ciriano at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory’s European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI).
