Paula Gordon: Access to early detection of breast cancer in Canada should not be a postal code lottery
Paula Gordon, Breast radiologist, Patient advocate, and Clinical Professor at the University of British Columbia, shared a post by Jennie Dale, Co-founder and Executive Director of Dense Breasts Canada and My Breast Screening, on X/Twittter, adding:
”Rhetorical Question. Access to early detection of breast cancer in Canada should not be a postal code lottery. The only column missing from this chart, is one showing in which jurisdictions a woman can have supplemental screening for density categories C and D.”
Quoting Jennie Dale’s post:
”More jurisdictions are implementing lifesaving policies, but shouldn’t all Cdns have the same chance to find breast cancer early? We need updated CTFPHC/GECSSP guidelines that use modern, inclusive science and protect Canadians.”
