Moffitt Earns Magnet Recognition for Excellence in Nursing for the 3rd Time
Bichoy Gabra, Oncology Infusion Pharmacy Services Manager at Moffitt Cancer Center shared a post on X:
“Moffitt Earns Magnet Recognition for Excellence in Nursing for the 3rd Time!
This week, Moffitt Cancer Center has been re-designated as a Magnet facility by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the credentialing body of the American Nurses Association.
Having earned its first Magnet designation in 2015 and second in 2019, Moffitt now joins an elite group of health care organizations that have received this prestigious four-year designation three times.
In addition to being re-designated, Moffitt received exemplars — far exceeding the standard — in eight areas.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) rate, Moffitt nursing outperformed the 80% target goal set by the Institute of Medicine.
- C Difficile Infection (CDiff) rate, all inpatient areas outperformed the benchmark for the most recent eight quarters at document submission.
The other exemplars include:
- Device related hospital acquired pressure injury
- Ambulatory surgery burn rate
- Patient Experience-Patient Education
- Patient Experience-Respect
- Patient Experience-Careful Listening
- Patient Experience-Responsiveness.”
