Rahul Banerjee: Excellent multiple myeloma work in Blood Cancer Journal
Rahul Banerjee, Assistant Professor at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center, shared a post by Mattia D’Agostin, Assistant Professor at University of Turin, on X:
“Excellent multiple myeloma work in Blood Cancer Journal – congrats to all authors!
Saying ‘dup(1q)’ or ‘+1q’ in myeloma FISH reports was dubious before… now it is indefensible.
≥ 4 copies of 1q is very different than 3 – studies need to specify too! ”
Quoting Mattia D’Agostino‘s post:
“Finally out in Blood Cancer Journal!
Amp1q worse than Gain1q. Gain1q may benefit from KRd+transplant.
Additional copies of 1q induced transcriptomic changes. Isolated Amp1q is already bad but when other high risk features are present PFS<12 months! ”
