Richa Shah: Thrilled to announce the publication of our study
Richa Shah, Post-doctoral Scientist at IARC/WHO, shared on LinkedIn:
“Thrilled to announce the publication of our study titled “Global Review of COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies and Their Impact on Cancer Service Disruptions” in the Journal of Cancer Policy!
Key Findings:
- Multiple Mitigation Strategies implemented primarily to control COVID-19 infection through elective care suspension, treatment modification, and telemedicine.
- Limited Evidence on the impact of these strategies on cancer outcomes. Many changes in cancer services were implemented without robust scientific evidence.
- Identified Deficiencies in service delivery, governance, and financing, highlighting the urgent need for robust strategies to minimize disruptions in future crises.
I am deeply grateful to all the co-authors for their valuable contributions.
