Nina Niu Sanford: Liver transplant and chemotherapy to colorectal cancer with unresectable liver metastasis

Nina Niu Sanford shared on X/Twitter:

“TRANSMET: addition of liver transplant to chemotherapy in colorectal cancer with unresectable liver metastasis: big OS benefit (5 year 57% v 13%).

Curve plateauing at 5 years suggests ~1/2 patients can be cured!

Challenge is liver availability – on trial, prioritization < 2 months after completing chemotherapy.

Great discussion by Dr. Lee with shoutout to Gonzalo Sapisochin liver transplant program in Toronto!”
