“Health Security in Times of Crisis
On September 4, Elizaveta Barabanova and I will be co-moderating the first part of an event series hosted by the European Student Think Tank. The discussion will explore how one health can strengthen systems under pressure, bridging humanitarian response and long-term recovery in conflict-affected regions.
I am particularly glad that Drs. Hanna Kaade and Jemma Arakelyan, will join the panel – consisting of seasoned experts including Professor Eduardo Missoni, Dr. Roberto Bertollini and Dr. Kasturi Sen. Their perspectives on war, cancer, and surgery connect with our shared work on the Manifesto for Cancer Care in Conflict-Affected Regions, the Institute of Cancer and Crisis, as well as great memories from the Oxford Global Surgery Course 2024.
