Research Is Hope and you can give hope to families like Vincent – St. Baldrick’s Foundation
St. Baldrick’s Foundation made the following post on LinkedIn:
“In August 2007, Vincent’s mom, Laura, noticed a bee sting looking bump below Vincent’s right eyebrow. His pediatrician referred him to see an eye specialist, which was scheduled for October. By then, Vincent needed emergency surgery because the bump had grown immensely and his right eye was now bulging out.
Vincent had surgery on November 1 and was diagnosed with cancer. His mom was shocked and thought cancer was just an “old person’s disease.” He went through 24 rounds of chemotherapy and 5 weeks of radiation. Because of research, Vincent is alive and healthy, and has sight in his right eye, today. He also graduated high school with honors and did a dual enrollment at his local community college while in high school.
While Vincent was in treatment, Laura was constantly looking at kids who were cancer survivors because it gave her hope that Vincent would make it. She eventually started participating in the IRC Braves The Shave Event annually in 2014. She took a hiatus from 2021-2023 and made a noble return this year so that Vincent could be that hope for another family.
Research Is Hope and you can give hope to families like Vincent’s by donating today.”
