“Professor Anthony Epstein, co-discoverer of the first cancer-causing virus in humans, passes away at age 102.
His discovery of EBV, together with Yvonne Barr and Bert Achong, is the foundation of the first ctDNA liquid biopsy test for cancer screening (NEJM 2017).
Rest in peace!”
