Susanna Fletcher Greer: How Do You Make the Invisible Visible?
Susanna Fletcher Greer, Chief Scientific Officer at the V Foundation, shared on LinkedIn:
“Cancer touches every single one of us. If it’s not you, it’s someone you love.
That’s why I believe we need to talk, always and often, about how cancer research changes lives. Not just research in ‘our backyard,’ but research happening everywhere.
A breakthrough discovered at Emory, a mile from my home, might change treatment for someone across the country. A study at WashU could shape the care my family receives here in Georgia.
Research funded anywhere impacts people everywhere. As someone who works at the intersection of science, communication, and funding, I know I can, and must, do a better job telling that story.
Researchers need to tell it. Donors need to understand it. And all of us need to carry it forward.
I could not be more excited to be part of this work, helping connect brilliant science to the people whose lives depend on it.
If you share this belief, I’d love to hear your best practices for communicating research so that everyone understands its impact.
How do you make the invisible visible?”
