New Studies from the ACS – Fight Colorectal Cancer
Fight Colorectal Cancer shared on LinkedIn:
“Two important new studies from the American Cancer Society, led by Rebecca Siegel, and published this week in JAMA, offer clear evidence that lowering the colorectal cancer screening age to 45 is having an impact:
- CRC screening among adults aged 45–49 increased by 62% from 2019 to 2023
- Early-stage diagnoses increased 50% between 2021–2022 – likely due to first-time screenings
These trends point to progress in early detection – but screening remains uneven across education and insurance lines.
At Fight CRC, we’re working to close these gaps and expand screening through our early-onset colorectal cancer (EOCRC) initiatives.
