“New Paper Alert
Our work revealed that there is a growing problem of early-onset Colorectal Cancer (CRC) in younger adults in certain regions of the state of Georgia. The study analyzed the incidence of CRC in different age groups in Clayton, East Central, West Central, Northeast, & Southeast regions of Georgia from 2000-2020. The findings revealed a decline in CRC incidence over time in most regions, except for Clayton, Northeast, & Southeast, where there was a notable increase in CRC cases among adults aged 15-44.
This highlights the need for targeted screening & awareness campaigns for adults under 45 in the most affected areas of Georgia.
Kudos to Dr. Meng-Han (Mina) Tsai for leading this important work!
