Asfand Yar Cheema: A Doctor’s Journey From Pakistan To The USA
Asfand Yar Cheema, Resident physician at the Cleveland Clinic, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“It has been a long-standing aspiration, and I’m humbled to apply for Hematology and Oncology fellowship ERAS2026.
From Pakistan to the United States, this journey began long before medical school—shaped by early experiences, exposure to disparities in cancer care, and a lifelong dream to fight cancer through both scientific discovery and compassionate care.
Throughout my journey, I have been guided by exceptional mentors and shaped by rigorous academic environments, grounded in the belief that medicine is an apprenticeship of both intellect and empathy. I am deeply grateful to the mentors, colleagues, and patients who continue to inspire and support this path.
Looking ahead with gratitude and purpose.
Wishing all applicants the very best in this year’s match.”
