Every Person Living with NCDs Such as Cancer Has Access to the Treatment and Care They Need – UICC
Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) shared on LinkedIn:
“A new opinion piece co-authored by Sonali Johnson, Head of Advocacy at UICC, and part of the World Health Organization’s Civil Society Working Group on NCDs, calls on governments around the world to go further in negotiations of the political declaration on NCDs, to confront the urgency, scale of action, and accountability needed to stem the rising burden.
Ahead of the United Nations High-level Meeting on NCDs in September, we need robust action on cancer prevention. This must include addressing the commercial determinants of health and investing in strong health systems that begin with high-quality primary care and ensure effective referral to secondary and tertiary services.
Only through this comprehensive approach we can ensure that every person living with NCDs such as cancer has access to the treatment and care they need.
