Carmen Monge-Montero: Language, Identity, Roots, Cancer … And a Podcast Recorded On The Go
Carmen Monge-Montero, Researcher and Patient Advocate at Youth Cancer Europe, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Language, identity, roots, cancer… and a podcast recorded on the go!
While walking through the American Association for Cancer Research Conference, I had the joy of recording this heartfelt conversation with Carolyn Van, a fellow SSP participant and one of my favorite connections from the event.
We talked about the power of language, how we self-identify after cancer, what we’ve learned from this journey, Can-Can, ethnicity and race and the deep ties we hold to our roots.
It was personal, reflective, and full of those small moments that make you feel connected.
You’ll hear the footsteps and the conference buzz — but most of all, you’ll feel like you were walking right there with us.
Thank you, Carolyn, for your warmth, honesty, and the way you hold space for these conversations.
These are the moments that remind me why I do this work.”
