Catherine Alix-Panabières: PANLIPSY Project on Early Pancreatic Cancer Detection
Catherine Alix-Panabières, Professor of Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montpellier, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Very nice highlighting of all the innovations that are made to Montpellier by the Magazine Le Point.
I am delighted to be able to highlight our PANLIPSY Project, which I coordinate at the national level. Many French and European expert partners are part of the adventure!
The prestigious journal NATURE has also just published an article highlighting this important study in a recent edition.
This project, supported by the ARC Foundation for Cancer Research, aims to detect pancreatic cancer very early thanks to Liquid Biopsy, a simple blood test for which we have had expertise for 26 years.
The originality of PANLIPSY lies in the combination of several blood biomarkers, associated with the assessment of the patient’s immune status.
Artificial intelligence (AI ) will play a key role in identifying the most relevant biomarkers, making it possible to spot the very first signs of developing pancreatic cancer so that it can be treated immediately.
This is a major step forward to act as soon as possible, with the hope of offering rapid and effective care.”
