Transforming cancer OUtcomes through Research – Consultancy and analytics: Guy’s Cancer cohort
TOUR: Transforming cancer OUtcomes through Research posted on LinkedIn:
“Members of our Real-World Evidence Programme team are at the PharosAI kick-off meeting, engaging in discussions and sharing updates on the project’s key objectives, the biobanking and real-world data that will underpin the work, the technical infrastructure that will support it, and the governance and ethical frameworks that will guide it.
As part of PharosAI, our Real-World Evidence team will be leading on the curation of real-world datasets for lung and pancreatic cancer facilitated by our Guy’s Cancer Cohort ethical approval.
Guy’s Cancer Cohort, a HRA approved research database, enables the use of all routinely collected anonymized clinical information of Guy’s Cancer patients for research purposes, and will provide the foundation for the AI model training. In addition, we will contribute to the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) workstream, drawing on the expertise of our PPIE Manager Saran Green to ensure that patient perspectives and public trust are embedded throughout the project.
PharosAI is an ambitious initiative aiming to build a platform that enables AI researchers and companies to access a broad spectrum of cancer-related datasets — helping to train AI systems for real-world healthcare settings. Thanks to £18.9 million in funding from the UK Government, PharosAI is set to democratise access to cancer data for AI research and accelerate the path towards AI-powered cancer care.
We are proud to be collaborating across four leading institutions — King’s College London, Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, Queen Mary University of London, and Barts Health NHS Trust — to deliver this programme over the next 3 years.”
