“Chief of the Division of Stem Cell Transplantation and Cellular Therapies, Catherine Wu, was nervous about auditioning for the Metropolitan Chorale earlier this fall. Despite her nerves, she got in. What she didn’t realize when she joined was that the Metropolitan Chorale sings with the Boston Pops each year for their holiday series.

Wu was thrilled. “I love the warm feeling that holiday music can provide,” she says. For the last two weeks, Wu has taken the hallowed Symphony Hall stage as an alto. Wu finds parallels in her hobby and the work she does at Dana-Farber tackling new oncology challenges with creative solutions. Learning a new song scratches that same itch. But perhaps more importantly, it provides a much-needed break.”
