Michelle Mitchell OBE: It was feeling very festive in our Stratford Office, as we streamed our final Staff Event of 2023!
Michelle Mitchell OBE shared a post on LinkedIn:
“It was feeling very festive in our Stratford Office yesterday afternoon, as we streamed our final Staff Event of 2023!
• I pulled some inspiration from the ‘12 Days of Christmas’ while I celebrated some of our milestones from each month this year.
• Julie Byard gave an update on our Trading team’s stellar impact. From over 500 shops and superstores to our online marketplaces, the team have expanded their portfolio this year, increasing their contribution to our work. They’ve also launched a new range supporting the Bowelbabe Fund, and a line of post-surgery bras in our Cancer Care range – a huge effort from all.
• Our chair Lord Simon Stevens, with newly bought Cancer Research UK Christmas cards in hand, shared his pride in CRUK’s impact and opportunities to improve outcomes for cancer patients and their loved ones for the year ahead.
• Erin Kennedy MBE closed the event by sharing her inspirational story with us – from winning gold at Tokyo 2020 to her breast cancer diagnosis, to returning to action and winning gold at the European Championships. We’re grateful for Erin’s involvement in supporting our work, including the recent launch of our Manifesto for Cancer Research and Care.
Nice time to reflect on progress but also the challenging times people with cancer face as a result of long waits for tests and treatments across the UK.”
