Wafaa Rashed: Much remains to be done to translate knowledge into action in prevention of childhood leukemia
Wafaa Rashed, Chair and Founder of PAPERI, shared a post on LinkedIn by Logan Spector, Professor at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, adding:
“Prevention of childhood leukemia has been a topic of discussion for years, yet much remains to be done to translate knowledge into action. Dr. Logan’s upcoming discussion is a timely and much-needed reflection on the giants whose work has shaped this field – and the steps we must take next.
At PAPERI, we believe that preventing childhood cancers, including leukemia, requires a comprehensive approach – integrating genomics, environmental research, and strong policy advocacy. By standing on the shoulders of those before us, we can push for innovative solutions that not only treat but prevent these diseases.
I look forward to engaging in this conversation and working together to turn vision into reality.”
Quoting Logan Spector’s post:
“You may say I’m a dreamer, but I’m not the only one.
Prevention of childhood leukemia has been discussed on-and-off for years by several others and over the next week I’ll discuss their thoughts before laying mine out. If my plan goes further, it will be by standing on the shoulders of giants.
