Naida Salković: Promoting cancer prevention in Bosnia and Herzegovina
Naida Salković, Member of Supervising Council at BoHeMSA (Bosnian and Herzegovinian Medical Students’ Association), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“My colleague Amil Družić and I, as youth ambassadors of Association of European Cancer Leagues, have worked tirelessly for the past few months to promote cancer prevention in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
During February, the month dedicated to cancer awareness, we actively worked on the promotion of the European Code Against Cancer in order to highlight the importance of prevention and simple steps that can reduce the risk of the disease.
Prevention is the most powerful weapon we have!
We continue to work on spreading awareness and hope that as many people as possible will adopt these recommendations in their daily lives, thus contributing to the preservation of their health.
We would especially like to thank all the organizations and institutions that recognized the importance of this initiative and enabled the distribution of translations of the European Code Against Cancer into the official languages of Bosnia and Herzegovina, thus contributing to the spread of awareness about cancer prevention.
We owe special gratitude to:
• Ministry of Health of Sarajevo Canton
• Ministry of Health of Tuzla Canton
• Public Health Institute of Sarajevo Canton
• Institute of Public Health of the Bosnian-Podrinje Canton
• Institute for Health and Food Safety (INZ)
• Think Pink Bosnia and Herzegovina
We invite other health institutions, educational institutions, and socially responsible organizations to join this initiative!
By raising awareness and disseminating information about cancer prevention, we can together contribute to reducing the number of patients in our community. Every piece of information shared can save a life!
We continue together with the mission of spreading awareness and promoting healthy lifestyle habits for a better tomorrow!”
Amil Družić, Oncology and Radiotherapy Resident at the Clinical Center University of Sarajevo, shared this post, adding:
“I am proud of the work that my colleague Naida Salković and I have invested in promoting cancer prevention and the European Code Against Cancer in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Prevention is key!
I invite all healthcare institutions, educational organizations, and socially responsible entities to join this initiative. Together, we can make a significant impact in the fight against cancer!”
