Toufic Kachaamy: Kicking Off Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month
Toufic Kachaamy, Chief of Medicine and Medical Director of Gastroenterology at City of Hope Phoenix, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Kicking Off Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month: A Call to Action.
March marks the beginning of Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, a time to amplify the conversation around a disease that remains one of the most preventable – yet still devastating – cancers in our society.
I’m grateful to be spending this month alongside Colon Cancer Coalition, my colleagues at City of Hope, and our community partners, working together to raise awareness, encourage screening, and support those affected.
While colorectal cancer has long been considered a disease of older adults, we are now witnessing a troubling rise in cases among young adults – a stark reminder that vigilance and early detection are more critical than ever.
This month, let’s spread the message: Colorectal cancer is preventable, treatable, and beatable – when caught early. Screening saves lives. Lifestyle choices make a difference. And together, we can advocate for better access to care and education for all.
Join us in the fight – get screened, talk to your loved ones, and support the cause however you can. Every conversation helps save lives.”
