On 4 February 2025 the ICCD 2025 policy event brought together policymakers, healthcare professionals, researchers, and patient advocates for a discussion focused on access to cross-border care and research in paediatric oncology.
What were the key takeaways?
- Addressing obstacles that limit access to innovative treatments.
- Tackling the regulatory, administrative, and financial barriers that hinder access to EU-wide clinical trials.
- Supporting training and capacity-building to reduce inequalities in care and research across Europe.
As MEP András Kulja (EPP, Hungary), the event host and organiser, said: “The fight against childhood cancer must be fought together across countries, across sectors, across political parties.”
