Colorectal Cancer is increasing in its incidence in Nigeria – Project PINK BLUE
Project PINK BLUE shared a post on LinkedIn:
“From BBC News, this is the story of 21 year old Oluwasina Tobiloba Elizabeth, who is a Rectal Cancer Signet Ring Adenocarcinoma survivor. Tobiloba Oluwasina Elizabeth has undergone multiple surgeries in order for the tumor that was attached to her organs (womb, bladder and uterus) could be removed.
Due to this life-threatening condition, Tobiloba is going to be carrying a colostomy bag for the rest of her life.
As part of our 2025 World Cancer Day events, we premiered the Documentary “Blood in my Stool” (by Project PINK BLUE and the Global Colon Cancer Association, which is the story of two colorectal cancer survivors and their journey with cancer, in a bid to raise awareness about colorectal cancer.
Colorectal Cancer is increasing in its incidence in Nigeria, however, the diagnosis is still low often due to misdiagnosis with other illness, patients sometimes present with “Blood in my Stool”.
We are using this to further raise more awareness and give fighting chance to people diagnosed with cancer.”
