Giuseppe Troisi: International delivery of essential childhood cancer medicines
Giuseppe Troisi, Technical Officer at the World Health Organization, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The Global Platform for Access to Childhood Cancer Medicines, a collaboration between World Health Organization and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, has initiated the international delivery of essential childhood cancer medicines.
The first shipments have reached Mongolia and Uzbekistan, ensuring uninterrupted, quality-assured treatment for children in need. This year, the initiative will support 5,000 children across at least 30 hospitals, with upcoming deliveries to Jordan, Ecuador, Nepal, and Zambia.
This platform is a critical step towards addressing disparities in childhood cancer survival rates by improving access to life-saving medicines in low- and middle-income countries.”
