Megan-Claire Chase: How challenging it can be to find support and truly feel included
Megan-Claire Chase, Breast Cancer Program Director for SHARE Cancer Support, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This webinar yesterday was incredibly insightful. As both a cancer survivor and a caregiver to my mother who also has cancer, I’ve realized how challenging it can be to find support and truly feel included in my mother’s care journey.
One comment that particularly resonated with me came from the brilliant Daneen Sekoni at Cancer Support Community:
‘We need to bring the caregiver perspective to the conversation – not as a footnote, but as an integral part of discussions about clinical benefits, quality of life, treatment outcomes, and the data elements we capture.’
It’s such an important reminder that caregivers play a critical role and deserve to be part of the dialogue in meaningful ways.”
