Sachin H. Jain Named to Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People for the Third Time
Sachin H. Jain was named one of Modern Healthcare’s 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare for the Second Consecutive Year.
Sachin H. Jain is the President and CEO of SCAN Group and Health Plan and an Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Stanford University School of Medicine.
He also serves as a Board Member at The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships for New Americans, an Academic Hospitalist (WOC) at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, and a Board Member at America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). He is also a board member of Omada Health.
This recognition marks his third appearance on the prestigious list, following his previous rankings of 36th in 2018 and 66th in 2023.
The recognition highlights Dr. Jain’s continued leadership and impact in the healthcare industry, particularly in transforming the healthcare experience for older adults.
Under his guidance, SCAN has reached significant milestones, including expanding into New Mexico and launching innovative, population-specific Medicare Advantage plans like SCAN Affirm (for LGBTQ+ seniors) and SCAN Embrace (for dual-eligible seniors).
Dr. Jain’s leadership also resulted in a major victory for SCAN in a lawsuit against the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) over changes to the Medicare Advantage STARS program.
The successful legal challenge led to $250 million in additional revenue for SCAN and a $1 billion boost in payments to health plans across the country, demonstrating Dr. Jain’s commitment to ensuring fair and equitable healthcare for all.
SCAN’s growth and success under Dr. Jain’s leadership have been recognized across the industry.
In addition to this latest honor, SCAN Health Plan has maintained a 4.5-star CMS rating for seven of the past eight years and was recently named to U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 list of the Best Medicare Advantage Companies in California and Nevada.
SCAN was also recognized on Modern Healthcare’s 2024 Best Places to Work list for the second consecutive year.
Dr. Jain’s work continues to shape the future of healthcare, focusing on improving access, reducing health disparities, and enhancing the quality of care for older adults and underserved populations.
