Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu: Sharing information on how survivors can access the help they need

Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu shared on LinkedIn:

“Last Saturday, I joined Women At Risk International Foundation (WARIF) Nigeria’s 2024 and 6th ‘No Tolerance March’ in Abuja. Along with stakeholders like the United Nations resident coordinator Mohamed Malick Fall, FCT Mandate Secretary for Women, Dr Adedayo Benjamins-Laniyi (FIMC), and Mrs Clare Omatseye, we walked 4km to raise awareness about gender-based violence against women and adolescent girls and boys.

It was a powerful way to educate communities about this pervasive issue and share information on how survivors can access the help they need.

As a founding board member of Women At Risk International Foundation (WARIF), I commend the founder, Dr Kemi Dasilva-Ibru, and her team, for 6 years of unwavering commitment, education, and much more. I remain grateful for the initiatives by WARIF during my fight to pass the gender and child protection laws in Kebbi. That success must be followed up with implementation and I am encouraged to see the HE Dr Nasir Idris and his wives, following that path. The MEDICAID CANCER FOUNDATION continues to advocate for better gender inclusion in Nigeria and beyond.

If you or someone you know has been assaulted, please don’t stay silent. Call the WARIF confidential toll-free number at 08009210009 or visit Medicaid Foundation. Let’s stand together and say ‘No’ to violence in every form. ”
