Percy Lee: If this technology did not help patients, none of us would care
Percy Lee, Professor and Vice-Chair of Clinical Research at City of Hope, recently shared a post by James Good, on LinkedIn, adding:
“If this technology did not help patients, none of us would care. Instead, we all have had sleepless nights, long days, stressful weeks, looking for solutions together for our patients.
If I had unresectable pancreatic cancer, I would only want an expert to treat me on MRIdian, a MRI-Linear accelerator for cancer.
Please read this open letter by key opinion leaders including me to patients, the public, the medical field, and the government to save the technology as a whole rather than let it die in pieces.”
Quoting James Good’s post:
“Without a quick and comprehensive resolution, the MRIdian platform will disappear. Patients will miss out, and technical innovation in radiotherapy will be derailed. But we will not go quietly into that good night… read our open letter to the radiology oncology community.”
