Lyat Granati Espinosa: Honored to represent the Max Foundation at the Annual Chilean Hematology Congress

Lyat Granati Espinosa, Program Officer for Social Determinants of Health Programs in Latin America at The Max Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Two weeks ago, I had the honor of representing The Max Foundation at a booth at the annual Chilean Hematology Congress. In between medical sessions, hematologists and healthcare professionals from across the country visited our stand to learn more about the organization, and, specifically our Day by Day program. In some instances, I approached physicians directly to discuss our work.

We distributed brochures, registration forms, and educational materials about the program. Some attendees were already familiar with our initiatives, while others were hearing about the program for the first time. In all cases, the participants expressed enthusiasm for the program and its potential to benefit their patients.

During the Congress, I also had the opportunity to enhance my knowledge by attending presentations on Myelofibrosis (MF), Polycythemia Vera (PV), and Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML)—the conditions we focus on in the Day by Day program in Chile. Dr. Donal McLornan from London delivered an engaging presentation on the latest updates regarding PV, ET, and MF, which provided valuable insights into myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs). Additionally, Dr. Jorge Cortés presented the latest advancements in CML treatment.

I’m glad I had the chance to participate in this Congress as it provided a perfect opportunity to share about our Day by Day program among hematologists and healthcare professionals in Chile. I hope this will serve as a gateway for many more patients to be included in the program, allowing us to support them on their journey with their treatment adherence, education, guidance, and emotional support. We will continue to promote the program nationwide and, in the region, with the goal of helping patients in a holistic way.”
