Cancer diagnosis not only affects the person’s physical health but also their mental health – WHO
WHO shared a post on LinkedIn:
“SURVEY: Cancer diagnosis not only affects the person’s physical health but also their mental health, as well as the psychosocial and financial outcomes of the family unit and caregivers.
Have you experienced this first hand?
If yes, please take part in our survey.”
Shirin Heidari, Director, Gendro, reshared the post by WHO on LinkedIn, adding:
“The answer is sadly yes… too many people are facing the devastating impact of cancer and navigating a challenging journey with varying degrees of access to adequate, effective, affordable, and humane cancer care (including post-treatment care) that is equitable and gender responsive.
Much more investment is needed to address risk factors, treatment options, and the broader socioeconomic impact of cancer, ensuring adequate access to the highest standard of cancer care, particularly in conflict, humanitarian, and displacement settings.”
