How cigarette price increases changed consumption patterns from 1970-2007
Aureliano Stingi, Cancer Biology at University of Geneva, shared a post by Agenzia ANSA on X:
”Absolutely agree with AIOM, cigarette prices should be increased.
Data suggests that as prices increase, consumption collapses. Furthermore, the money collected would be used to treat diseases caused by tobacco.”
Quoting Agenzia ANSA‘s post:
” Increase the price of cigarettes by 5 euros per pack: this is the request of the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (Aiom) which today, in a press conference at the Senate, presented the campaign.”
